The High Fens are a high plateau that has 200 days of precipitation and misses 150 days per year. The High Fens have a cool and wet climate, with Siberian cold temperatures in winter. In winter, there is often snow at this altitude (+600 meters). Ideal for a nice winter walk.
Keep in mind that the snow attracts an abundance of tourists. This influx can be so great that the area is even closed off. Avoid these snowy weekends and go for a walk during the working week if you want to enjoy the peace and quiet.
