The artwork was made by the artist Peter Hodiamont. It was donated in 1989 by the Lions Club of Eupen.
With its doves of peace and the 8 plaques, the work symbolises peace for the whole world, for Belgium, between Walloons and Flemish, between religions, between industry and agriculture, between neighbours, for the city of Eupen and in the family.
