The Latem Mill or Kouter Mill in Sint-Martens-Latem, East Flanders, is a post mill that stood on a site where a grain mill already existed in 1373, before being restored in 1977. This mill was part of the possessions of St. Bavo's Abbey. During religious conflicts in the second half of the sixteenth century, this ban mill was destroyed. The current mill was built in 1614. The last major restoration took place in 1977, when the mill was moved 88 meters to obtain better windcatching. In 2006, the mill was hoisted from its base because the stone beam had become too weak and the mill might topple over.
