Legend has it that the entrance gate of the NORBERTINE ABBEY OF AVERBODE is right at the intersection of the provinces of Flemish Brabant, Limburg and Antwerp.
The first fathers could not have imagined this when they were looking for a suitable place to found an abbey around 1134. Today, cyclists can cycle through three provinces in the backyard of the abbey.
