Legend has it that the entrance gate of the NORBERTIJNENABDIJ VAN AVERBODE stands right at the SNIJPUNT of the provinces of Flemish Brabant, Limburg and Antwerp. The first fathers could not have suspected this when they were looking for a suitable place to found an abbey around 1134. Cyclists can now cycle through three provinces in the abbey's backyard.
