Starting from the center of Schepdaal and following the Varenbergbeek and the Molenbeek, you’ll reach the reservoir ponds that ensure the Pedemolen can still operate during dry summers. The watermill at Sint-Gertrudis-Pede has been grinding grain since the 14th century. Pieter Bruegel the Elder even immortalized the mill in his most famous paintings, and it still looks just as charming today. From there, follow the upper course of the Pedebeek.
