The starting and ending point is the free parking of Eetcafé Riekelt, Rijksweg 184 in Rijckholt (on the main road between Gronsveld and Eijsden).

This route follows a new cycle path on an old railway line from Dalhem to Blegny.
This beautiful cycle path starts in the restored Dalhem railway tunnel.
The route is fully paved except for about 125 m before the Dalhem railway tunnel (gravel).

The former Blegny coal mine can be visited and you descend with an elevator to an original coal pillar (at a depth of 60 m).
