Start and finish at Drongen station. Alternatively, you can start and finish at Drongenplein 1, 9031 Drongen, near the intersection with Asselskerkweg, where free parking is available. There is also bike parking, a bus stop, a restaurant, cafés, a playground, and a bakery at the square.
The walk passes through the Assels Natural Reserve and the Beelaertmeersen, part of the Levende Leie Nature Park. Along the way, you’ll pass a birdwatching hut (51.0342, 3.6731), two unique underpasses (51.0436, 3.6717 and 51.0323, 3.6454), the scenic Asselskerkweg, and a free ferry crossing (51.0314, 3.6690). The ferry of Afsnee operates from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
