Walk along several slow roads towards Buken. This borough was heavily ravaged by the Germans in WWI. On the panels of the Dyle Line, the walker can read all about the horror of this devastating period. The Chicory Museum is currently also hosting the exhibition 'Great War in Kampenhout' from 9/11 - 7/12. On the day of the Slow Road (2014), this walk led into the slow bridge over the Leibeek along the Kleine Heideweg.

Starting place: parking Witloofmuseum, Leuvensesteenweg, 22, 1910 Kampenhout

Public transport: Bus Line Leuven - Mechelen, nr 285, stop Kampenhout Sas. Line Brussels - Bonheiden, nr 272, stop Kampenhout Sas. Line Brussels - Keerbergen, nr 270, stop Kampenhout Sas, more info: www.delijn.be.
