Since 1984, the original climbing competition Freiburg-Schauinsland is no longer a competition area for the European Championships. It is still interesting to drive the old route over Freiburg in the Black Forest. Previously, the course led over 11.5 kilometers to an altitude of 1,200 meters. The most famous curve: the Holzschlägermatte.
