The Duisburg Nord Industrial Park is a blast furnace complex that owes its nickname "pharmacy of the Ruhr area" to the many types of pig iron that were mixed here. The metallic smell still permeates your nose. As a result of the steel crisis, this Thyssen complex was shut down in the mid-1980s. Demolition turned out to be too expensive, so it was decided to keep the complex in its original state. The site has several walking and cycling trails.
