Underneustadt

The district of Unterneustadt is located east of the city center of Kassel on the eastern bank of the Fulda River. Across this river, it borders to the north with the district of Wesertor and in the north-northeast with Wolfsanger-Hasenhecke. In the northeast, it borders east of the Kassel harbor with Sandershausen, a district of the municipality of Niestetal; there, the final section of the lower course of the Losse forms the natural boundary of the Kassel city area. In the east and southeast, Unterneustadt borders the district of Bettenhausen, where a part of the lower course of the Wahle forms the natural boundary. In the south, it borders Waldau and thus the Fulda meadows, and in the southwest to the southern city located beyond the Fulda River. In the west, it borders between the Rondell and the Fuldabrücke with the district of Mitte, which essentially encompasses the Kassel city center, also located beyond the Fulda.
