In the Eifel, nestled among the vast forests, lies a gigantic radio telescope. The dish has a diameter of 100 meters. This makes the radio telescope one of the largest movable radio telescopes in the world. The "Effelsberg Radio Observatory" is located east of the tourist town of Bad Munstereifel and close to the village of Effelsberg.
