The oldest part of the church, the sacristy, dates back to 1230. The brickwork and the tower are from 1600. The weather vane was shot down by the British in their victory frenzy. Only since 1980 has the tower had a new weathervane. The area was handed over to the Russian occupation forces by the British in November 1945 and has since belonged to Mecklenburg. In 1990, the 2 old bells were replaced by a new one. The 2 old bells have found a place for the church.
