Lohmen is a municipality in the southern part of the district of Rostock in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It is administered by the Güstrow-Land office, based in the non-administered town of Güstrow.
The municipality of Lohmen is located in the northern end moraine area of the Mecklenburg Lake District between the towns of Güstrow and Goldberg. It borders the district of Ludwigslust-Parchim and includes areas in the Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heide Nature Park and the Sternberger Seenland Nature Park. Within the municipality, there are several lakes, including Lake Garder and Lake Nienhäger, both of which are fed by the Bresenitz River, and Lake Lohmer.
