The town hall is located on the north side of the market in the center of the city. On the south side of the market is the Protestant St. Nicholas Church.
The building is constructed in the Baroque style, but without the usual Baroque façade decoration. On the south side of the two-story building is a simply designed Baroque portal. According to an inscription on the building, it was built in 1671. In 1691, the town hall had to be rebuilt after a fire. In 1836, a historicizing three-story extension was added to the eastern side.
