The Brucher dam belongs to the municipality of Marienheide in North Rhine-Westphalia and, in addition to flood control, serves to raise low water levels and provide local recreation; Campsites are available. The dam is operated by the Wupperverband. The water retained is the Brucher Bach. Water from the Wipper is also supplied by a 1280 m long tunnel to the west of Holzwipper. On the reservoir, you can enjoy active hobbies such as sailing, swimming, boating, etc.
