The Buddenburg House was located in the district of Lippholthausen in the town of Lünen in the district of Unna. The classicist castle, built around 1845, was demolished in 1977 after a long period of neglect due to dilapidation.
The House of Buddenburg was first mentioned in 1293. It was built by the brothers Gottschalk Budde and Gottfried Budde as a moated castle and was named Buddenburg after them. At the behest of the Counts of the Mark, however, it soon had to be demolished again. It is unclear whether this castle stood on today's Castle Square.
