The Tagebau Humboldt was a lignite open-pit mine with an associated briquette factory near Wallensen in the Weser-Leine-Bergland in southern Lower Saxony.
The pit was located in the Weenzerbruch at Haidkopf between the places Wallensen and Thüste to the west and the town of Duingen and its districts Weenzen and Fölziehausen to the east.
