The Richard Schirrmann Secondary School was a former secondary school in Altena that was dissolved at the end of the 2016/2017 school year.
The institution was named after Richard Schirrmann, a significant figure in the city's history, who founded the first provisional youth hostel in 1907, which moved to Altena Castle in 1912. This was located in the old building of the school, then still called Netterschule. The old building was demolished in the 1960s. Afterwards, the school was completely rebuilt in its current form. In 1998, the secondary school moved into the building that was last used.
