The Old Synagogue Einbeck is a protected monument built between 1798 and 1803 at Baustraße 15a in Einbeck in the district of Northeim. It is an ensemble of front building and rear building. The front building was probably built before 1700 and was used by the Jewish community from 1798 to 1908. Behind the synagogue building there is now a farm building from 1919, which was built in connection with its subsequent use as a residential building.
The Einbeck city archive contains a file "Construction of a synagogue building in Einbeck 1798", which contains a petition from the Jewish community for the synagogue construction and the approval by the sovereign. As a donor, Elias Meyer provided the community with the necessary funds. Sources are not known about the new building itself, but 1803 can be indirectly inferred from the entry into the fire insurance company as the year of completion.
