The Eschwege Monastery Brewery is a private brewery in northern Hesse and is located in the former Augustinian monastery in Eschwege.
In 1839, the master butcher and innkeeper George Christoph Andreas founded what would later become the Eschwege Monastery Brewery, which was initially located in the old municipal brewery. From 1875, the brewery operation was moved by Jacob Andreas, the son of the founder, to the building of the old Augustinian monastery. In 1880, there were a total of six breweries in Eschwege. After the death of her husband Jacob, Elise Andreas continued the business from 1892.
