The Palmschleuse is a chamber lock in Lauenburg/Elbe in Schleswig-Holstein, it is the oldest chamber lock in Europe.
The Palmschleuse was completely built of wood in 1398 during the construction of the Stecknitz Canal and was one of 15 locks of this first watershed canal in the world. Since the Middle Ages, the lock was also known by the name Schlüse zu Bockhorst. As a chamber lock, it has been documented since 1480.
