Siegfried PharmaChemicals Minden

Siegfried PharmaChemicals Minden GmbH is a chemical plant located in Minden, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. As a subsidiary of Siegfried Holding AG based in Zofingen, Switzerland, it produces chemicals for the pharmaceutical industry.
The history of pharmaceutical production in Minden dates back to 1939. The Knoll AG, founded in 1886 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein, had its Chemical Works Minden GmbH registered in the commercial register in 1935, and began production at the new site about four years later. The subsidiary was later integrated into the parent company, and the Minden site operated as a Knoll branch until the year 2000. In August 2000, the BASF Group, to which Knoll AG had since belonged, decided to spin off the production of pharmaceutical chemicals to BASF PharmaChemicals GmbH & Co. KG. The resulting subsidiary initially fully belonged to the BASF Group and became part of the "Nutrition & Health" division from 2010. In 2015, the sale to the current parent company took place, along with a corresponding change in the company name.
