The Weserwerft Minden GmbH was a shipyard operation located in the port of Minden/Ostwestfalen. Its manufacturing halls shaped the image of the part of the city located to the right of the Weser.
In 1918, Weserwerft was founded under the name "Ship and Machine Construction Company with limited liability in Minden i.W." at the so-called Old Weser Harbor. The main shareholders were the Bremen and Minden towboat companies, as well as the city of Minden. Weserwerft held a patent for the "Universal Schilling Rudder," a simple and robust construction with good steering properties.
