The Mastholter See, also known as the Benteler See after its owner, is a lake created by sand mining east of the village of Mastholte, which belongs to the town of Rietberg.
Lake Mastholt is located within the Emssand plain in the south of the Gütersloh district and, with an area of around 26.6 hectares, is the largest water area in the district. The entire lake area is within the Rietberg city area, but the eastern shore borders directly on the Westenholz district of the city of Delbrück. Although the water is located in the catchment area of the Glenne, there is no direct connection to a flowing water.
