The Uettelsheimer See is located in the left bank Rhine district of Baerl in Duisburg and is a recreational area. To the east, it borders Homberg, to the west it borders the city of Moers, and to the south it borders Hochheide.
Through gravel extraction, a water surface of 23 hectares was created, the surroundings of which were developed from 1969 to 1992. The shorelines were designed, paths and a park landscape were laid out, and retreat areas for flora and fauna were created.
