The Zindler House on Himmelgeister Landstraße 171 in Düsseldorf-Himmelgeist was built in 1967 according to designs by Paul Schneider-Esleben for Martin Zindler.
The residential building is an example of Brutalism: “With the choice of material [concrete], the exposure of the construction, and the pursuit of volume, it adopts principles of 'Concrete Brutalism'.” The exposed concrete ceilings are visible from the outside and enclose the different building components. A tall concrete tower rises from the concrete building complex. In its shape, it resembles a ship's chimney.
