The Stendenitz Forest Museum is located in northern Brandenburg, in the middle of Ruppin in Switzerland, near Neuruppin on Lake Zermützelsee. It is one of the oldest forest museums in Germany.
It is located in Ruppiner Schweiz. The typical landscape of Ruppin in Switzerland, with its lakes, dates back to the effects of the last ice age. Meanwhile, a chain of lakes has formed north of Neuruppin. To the west of the Zermützelsee, Tornowsee and Kalksee, a steeply hilly landscape has been created, with a population of diverse species. Cranes, beavers, white-tailed eagles and ospreys find their habitat here.
