The Waldbad Zeischa local recreation area is located east of the spa town of Bad Liebenwerda in southern Brandenburg, between the districts of Dobra and Zeischa on federal road 101.
In 1888, the Liebenwerda merchant and manufacturer Carl Weiland began mining gravel and sand northeast of Zeischa. For the moment, the raw materials were extracted manually. As production increased, bucket chain shovels were also used in the pit. Transportation from the pit was done by light rail.
