Proßmarke is a district of the municipality of Hohenbucko in the southern Brandenburg district of Elbe-Elster. It is located about 11 kilometers northeast of the town of Schlieben on the state road 70.
The Fichtwald village of Proßmarke, where Bronze Age finds indicate a significantly earlier settlement, was first mentioned in a document in the year 1376 as "Provismarke." It presumably received its name due to its proximity to the Propstei Schlieben. Severe destructions in the village are recorded from the years 1762, 1765, and 1809.
