Zesch am See is a part of the municipality of Lindenbrück, a district of the city of Zossen in the Teltow-Fläming district. Before being incorporated into Lindenbrück in 1974, the place was an independent municipality and originally belonged to the Baruth lordship.
Zesch am See is located in the southeasternmost corner of the city area of Zossen between the Großer and Kleiner Zeschsee. The district covers an area of 252 ha. It borders to the east with Neuendorf and Egsdorf, both of which are districts of the city of Teupitz, and to the south with Mückendorf, a district of the city of Baruth/Mark.
