Schnarsleben, which was incorporated into Niederndodeleben on 1 July 1950, adjoins Niederndodeleben directly to the north. Together with the original Niederndodeleben, it forms a unified settlement area. North of the village is the Großer Wartberg, the highest elevation of the Magdeburg Börde.
The first documentary mention of Schnarsleben was on 28 June 1152. In this document, Bishop Ulrich von Halberstadt confirms his possessions to the Hillersleben monastery. The construction of the Schnarsleb village church of St. Stephen, which still exists today, began in the 2nd half of the 12th century.
