The Science Port Magdeburg is a modern urban district in Magdeburg. It was created from the former trading port, which lost its function as a transshipment point over time. The Science Port is a museum, science and research location. In the future, it is to be linked to commerce, housing, services and, due to its location on the Elbe, also to leisure and tourism.
The Science Port is located on the site of the former commercial port north of Magdeburg's city centre in the Alte Neustadt district directly on the Elbe and about 700 metres east of the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. On the opposite side of the Elbe is the Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences, which can be reached via the northern bridge of the adjacent B 1.
