Schloss Schönfeld in the Saxon community of Schönfeld was first mentioned as a water castle in the 13th century and was further expanded over the centuries. Until the early 15th century, the noble family Schönfeld resided here. The buildings date from 1560 to 1580. In 1882, Baron von Burgk acquired Schönfeld Castle and had it remodeled until 1884. Today, Schloss Schönfeld is one of the most significant Neo-Renaissance castles in Saxony.
Schloss Schönfeld is located three kilometers from the A13 exit towards Großenhain in the community of Schönfeld on B 98. The castle can be reached by bus lines 455 and 456 of the Meißen transport company.
