Nennigmühle is located about 3 kilometers southeast of Pockau in the Flöha Valley. The state road 223 Flöha–Olbernhau runs through the village, and there is a connection to Sorgau and Wernsdorf in the opposite direction via district road 8112.
In 1764, Nennigmühle was mentioned as the official mill of the Lauterstein office. In 1840, the settlement was assigned to the parish of Zöblitz. August Schumann referred to Nennigmühle as belonging to Wernsdorf in the State Lexicon of Saxony in 1825:
