The longest pedestrian bridge in Germany is the "Geierlay". It was inaugurated in 2015. The bridge is 360 meters long and connects the places Mörsdorf and Sosberg and soars 100 meters above the valley of the river Mörsdorfer Bach. The bridge is on the trail of the Saar-Hunsrück-Steig. This walk was elected in 2009 as the most beautiful hiking trail in Germany.
