The sports hall at Gate II is a sports hall in the city of Premnitz. It was the training and competition venue for competitive sports in the city and hosted games of the DDR Handball League and international matches. The hall is used by TSV Chemie Premnitz.
The handball department of BSG Chemie Premnitz played in the DDR's first division repeatedly. In the 1949/1950 and 1950/51 seasons, they reached the finals of the DDR indoor handball championship. In 1960, after several years in the second division, they achieved promotion to the indoor handball league for the first time. As the existing infrastructure did not provide ideal conditions, it was decided as early as the 1950s to build a new hall suitable for competitive sports with a playing area of international dimensions.
