The former stop Schwäbisch Gmünd Süd is a cultural monument in Schwäbisch Gmünd. It is located on the route of the disused Hohenstaufenbahn, which is now used as a bicycle path.
After the Hohenstaufenbahn between Schwäbisch Gmünd and Göppingen was approved for construction in 1905, the plans for all stations along the route were created by the General Directorate of the Royal Württemberg State Railways under construction officer Korherr. Even before the line was opened in 1911, the stop was completed in 1909. It was designed to accommodate a large number of passengers to cater to the commuters of the local silverware factories.
