Petershagen Lock is a lock near the town of Petershagen in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is part of the Petershagen barrage, which enables the expansion of the Middle Weser for inland navigation with a diving depth of 2.50.
In 1934, the Reich Waterways Administration began to expand the Middle Weser between Bremen and Minden, thus achieving a shipping route between the North Sea ports in Bremen and the hinterland as well as with the Mittelland Canal in Minden. Construction had to be stopped in 1941 due to the war. After the Second World War, the lock was completed and put into operation together with the Petershagen barrage in 1953.
