The District Court of Höchst im Odenwald was a Hessian district court located in Höchst im Odenwald, which existed from 1879 to 1968.
With the Courts Organization Act of 1877, the organization and designations of the courts were standardized throughout the empire. Therefore, on October 1, 1879, the Grand Duchy of Hesse abolished the regional courts, which had been the courts of first instance in the provinces on the right bank of the Rhine until then. They were functionally replaced by district courts. Thus, the District Court of Höchst replaced the Regional Court of Höchst. The “regional courts” were now called the higher courts that were directly subordinate to the district courts. The District Court of Höchst was assigned to the district of the Regional Court of Darmstadt.
