The special airfield Michelstadt is located west of Michelstadt in southern Hesse. It is operated by the Aero Club Odenwald. The airfield permits motor gliders, motor airplanes, ultralight aircraft, model aircraft, and helicopters.
In 1957, the Aero Club Odenwald began flight operations at Waldhorn in Michelstadt with a 400-meter long grass runway. The first hangar was built in the same year. In 1975, the undulating grass runway was leveled and paved. Another hangar was built in 1998.
