Gut Bischhausen is an estate that originated from a former spur castle in Bischhausen, which is now part of the core city of Witzenhausen in the Werra-Meißner district of North Hesse. The estate, located on a terrace-like hill above the Werra, was formerly the seat of the noble family von Bischoffshausen.
The estate lies north of the Werra, about 1.5 kilometers northwest of the core city of Witzenhausen, and above the former village of Bischhausen on a mountain spur, which is formed as an extension of the northern hilltop of Badenstein and the valley created by the Wolfsbach, which flows into the Werra here. Below in the valley floodplain runs the federal highway 80, while the Halle–Kassel railway line passes by in the north on an embankment.
