Its core business is the manufacture of packaging machines primarily for the tobacco industry, but also for other industries such as Kellogg's or Pampers. In cigarette packaging, Focke is the leader with the company G.D as a competitor.
The family business was founded in 1955 by Heinz Focke in Bremen. After expansion in Bremen was no longer possible in the 1950s, the company moved to Verden in 1961, where its headquarters are still located today. Even after the death of the company founder in 2003, the company continues to be run as a family business by the descendants, the siblings Jürgen and Doris Focke.
