Il core business è la produzione di macchine per imballaggio principalmente per l'industria del tabacco, ma anche per altri settori come ad esempio Kellogg’s o Pampers. Nel settore del confezionamento delle sigarette, Focke è leader insieme all'azienda G.D come concorrente.
L'azienda familiare è stata fondata nel 1955 da Heinz Focke a Brema. Dopo che negli anni '50 non è stata più possibile un'espansione a Brema, l'azienda si è trasferita a Verden nel 1961, dove si trova ancora oggi la sede principale. Anche dopo la morte del fondatore dell'azienda nel 2003, l'azienda è continuata dai discendenti, i fratelli Jürgen e Doris Focke, come azienda familiare.
