The Baldenau Castle is the ruins of a water castle in the Hunsrück between the villages of Hundheim and Hinzerath, both districts of the municipality of Morbach in the Bernkastel-Wittlich district in Rhineland-Palatinate, just south of the Hunsrück Höhenstraße B 327.
The Baldenau Castle ruins are one of the few water castles in the Hunsrück located in a high valley. The moat of the ruins, situated at an elevation of 465 meters on the northern edge of the Idarwald, is fed by the upper course of the Dhron. The idyllic ruins, located in a swamp area and rarely visited, are freely accessible at any time.
