Pfalzdorf on the lower Lower Rhine in the northwest of North Rhine-Westphalia is a district of Goch. Before it was incorporated in 1969, it was one of the largest villages in Germany by area. The distinct scattered settlement belongs to the so-called Palatine language island on the Lower Rhine.
Pfalzdorf is located on the left bank of the Rhine in the Lower Rhine lowlands between Goch, Kalkar, and Kleve on the Pfalzdorf hills, a part of the Lower Rhine ridge. Neighboring places are Bedburg-Hau to the north, Louisendorf to the northeast, Keppeln to the east, Goch to the south, Asperden to the southwest, and Nierswalde to the west.
