Schmilka is a district of Bad Schandau in the district of Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains in Saxony. Schmilka has 75 inhabitants. 23 of the 69 houses belong to entrepreneur Sven-Erik Hitzer. Small half-timbered houses along the Elbe and up the Mühlenberg towards the Großer Winterberg shape the picture. In 2017, Schmilka was awarded by the interest group Saxony's Most Beautiful Villages. Schmilka is a stage point of the Painter's Way.
Schmilka is located on the right bank of the Elbe directly at the Saxon Switzerland National Park in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, right at the border with the Czech Republic. To the east of the village lies the Großer Winterberg, to the west are the Schrammsteine and the Rauschenstein. The village is situated at an altitude of 117 m.
