The ruins of the church in Heinsdorf are the former late Romanesque village church of the formerly independent municipality of Heinsdorf. It was united with Niebendorf in 1957 and since 2003 has belonged to the district of Niebendorf-Heinsdorf in the city of Dahme/Mark in the district of Teltow-Fläming in the state of Brandenburg. The parish belongs to the Zossen-Fläming ecclesiastical district of the Evangelical Church of Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesia Upper Lusatia.
The county road 7208 leads via Heinsdorf-Angerstraße from the south into the historic city centre. There, Landstraße 70 branches off to the west as Heinsdorfer Straße. The church is located southeast of this intersection on a fenced lot.
