The Kerbsche Berg is a small hill in the Unstrut Valley on the district road K 220 between Dingelstädt and Kefferhausen, rising only about 20 meters above the valley. It is located on the eastern slope of the Upper Eichsfeld at the transition to the northern Dün. To the west runs the former railway line Leinefelde–Treysa with a viaduct over the Kefferhausen road, and south of the Unstrut is the Kerbsche Mill.
The Kerbsche Berg was originally called Kirchbergischer Berg, referring to an early church on the mountain. Over the centuries, the mountain has been mentioned in documents with frequently changing spellings. Through various adaptations and the omission of syllables within the Thuringian dialect area, the term Kerbscher Berg has come into common use today.
